This image shows a spotted Toby Pufferfish captured on a night dive off Lion Island while staying at Loloata Resort, Papua New Guinea on the Sept 2003 Dive 2000 expedition.
Camera used was a Sea & Sea Motor Marine II with Kodak ASA100 film and a 1:3 macro lens.

This image was captured during Julie Kerrigan’s Underwater Photo Course with Kevin Deacon aboard Ocean Trek, Jervis Bay in March 2004.

The image was taken during her first attempts at underwater photography and this is just one of many successful photos from her portfolio. We like it because it is an impressive subject & beautifully composed.

Camera used: Olympus 5060 digital camera & housing.

Yawning Rhinopias Taken by Phil Clinton on the Dive 2000 Loloata Trip in September 2003

It is a still picture taken from his Sony Trv33 Mini DVD recorder in an Mini Dive Buddy Housing.

The image captures beautifully this great behavioral moment as the Fish "Yawns" pumping fresh oxygen rich water over its gills.

Jervis Bay at its BEST!! David Von Schill made the most of some good conditions to capture Jane & David investigating the props of the TSS Wandra. The Wandra lies in 26m at the Drum & Drumsticks just to the North of Jervis Bay.

This still picture was taken by David Von Schill with his Nikon D100 digital SLR camera in Sea & Sea housing. It was a natural light exposure only using the 16mm super wide angle lens.

It was taken on the Dive 2000 underwater photography course aboard Ocean Trek, on the Australia Day weekend Jan 2004.

Kevin considers this the best picture of the Wandra that he has seen.

Margot Rauschecker shares Dive 2000’s love of the Port Stephens area. This photo was taken at the 'Pipeline' at Nelsons Bay in April 04. The site is full of sponges, soft corals and small marine life - a macro photographers delight.

This baby Moray had either made his home or was viewing his world from the centre of a sponge. This guy was only the size of your finger and so cute!

Margot is relatively new to underwater photography and used a Canon S45, 4 Megapixel digital camera to capture this image.

Barbara Evans will be a familiar name to those of you who have been hanging around Dive 2000 for a while. Being back in her native South Africa has not stopped her taking great images. Barbara calls this photo “Dolphin Encounters”

This image was taken in Sodwana Bay, South Africa of 5 bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and a snorkeller.

Barbara used an Olympus C40 Digital Camera in an Olympus PT-012 Housing with an Inon wide angle lens (UWL – 105 x 0.51) to capture this natural light shot.

Paul Krattiger has captured this nice shot of the endangered Grey Nurse Shark on the mid North coast of NSW.

David Young can often be found hanging out around Dive 2000 or tagging along on a Saturday shore dive.

Dave snapped this shot at Pixies Pinnacle on the Ribbon Reefs of the GBR. It just goes to show in addition to leading excellent group vacations, Dive 2000 can assist with personal travel plans as well.

Dave took this image of a Barrier Reef Anemonefish a couple of years ago with his Sea & Sea Motormarine 2, single YS60 strobe and 1:3 macro lens.

Angela Krok’s photo was taken in Jervis Bay...it is so good down there!!

Angela reckons that this guy is a real cool dude, just hanging out on some sponge.

Angela’s image of a male Big-belly Seahorse Hippocampus abdominalis was taken with her Nikonos 5 and macro kit.

Well done Angela...he is definitely a cool dude in our opinion.

Dec 04 & Photo of the Year - David Von Schill

We have decided to choose one of the 12 monthly images and award a Photo of the Year. This year it so happens that December’s photo was selected by Kevin for the annual award.

Congratulations to David Von Schill who wins a $50 Dive 2000 Gift Certificate for this amazing shot of mating mandarinfish.

Kevin believes this is the best picture of an amorous mandarinfish he has seen. Well done David, you have set a high standard for 2005.

David captured this great image of mating mandarinfish (Synchiropus splendidus) on a Sept 04 dive holiday to Tufi Resort in Papua New Guinea. Can you believe that these guys were found on the ‘house reef’ just in front of the resort.

He likes to call it “Was it good for you too!”

It was shot with his Nikon D100 with 105 lens in a Sea and Sea housing (1/100 sec at F20).
