Ken Kates had his eyes peeled to catch this picture of mating Pyjama Squid (dumpling squid) on a night dive in Jervis Bay. Ken is one of the fantastic dive crew aboard MV Oceantrek who looked after our Dive 2000 Jervis Bay dive weekend Jan 06.

Ken used his housed Nikon SLR, with dual strobes & macro lens to capture this wonderful animal behavior shot.

Nice work Ken!

Tom Piotrowski is a Fairy Bower regular and we are all continually amazed at what this wonderful Sydney shore dive can deliver.

Tome has continued the cephalopod flavour for 2006 with this nice shot of a squadron of squid hovering in the sunlight.

Tom shot the squid with a Canon PowerShot S80 on Av setting at F2.8, no flash.

We have changed the tone for this month with a great artistic image from Brook Mathews.

His picture of the eye of a Port Jackson shark is stunning in its detail and beauty. When we saw it, we knew it was a worthy photo of the month.

Brook used his Nikon D70 digital SLR in a housing to capture this great image.

Good work Brook!

Nick Auzins ventured down to Jervis Bay in Feb to take part in the photo course onboard Oceantrek and take his first underwater images.

The results below speak for themselves, with this lovely cuttlefish picture. Nick must have been an attentive student.

Nick captured this image with a Nikonos 5 and 1:3 macro extension and framer.

Phil Clinton enjoyed a March 2006 holiday to the clear waters of Papua New Guinea. Milne Bay was the setting for some shooting of the outrigger canoe squadron when some of the local underwater inhabitants insisted on being in the picture.

Phillip Martyn has contributed another great image from Jervis Bay. This Grey Nurse Shark has posed nicely for Phillip to capture the shot.

Phillip is a keen underwater image maker and captured this picture with his Olympus 5060 in an Ikelite housing with DS50 strobe.

Kevin was impressed with the exposure and sharpness Phillip has achieved with a subject that can be difficult to capture well.

Diane Yeo enjoyed a recent diving and campervan holiday in New Zealand. The Poor Knights Marine Reserve. During the trip she captured this great image of diver Keith Clarkson and a curious pigfish. Nice one Diane!

Diane used her Sony DSC-P150 digital camera & MPK-PHB housing with an Inon UWL-105AD Wide Angle Lens for this great shot.

Aug 06 - Fenella Cochrane

Fenella Cochrane discovered the delights of Nelson Bay on the July weekend with Dive 2000. This Juvenile Boxfish caught her eye, and Fenella has captured a nice front on portrait of the little guy!

The weekend really delivered with 20m+ visibility on the dives and lots of great animals at our favourite shore dives of Fly Point and Halifax. We are heading up to Port Stephens again in late October...why not join us?

David Hazelwood was going on a South Pacific holiday so he decided to hire an underwater camera system from us….and we are so glad he did.

His trip to Tonga included swimming and snorkeling with the magnificent humpback whales that migrate at this time of year.

David took this image with Sea & Sea DX 8000 underwater digital camera & wide angle lens.

Liz Brodie braved the dark and fishermen at Clifton Gardens on a night dive to find this cute blenny in a bottle.

Allan Saben has given us a great image for the festive season. He has captured the superb colours and plumage of this Christmas Tree Worm.

We particularly liked how the angle Allan chose has highlighted the orange trap door the worm uses to protect itself when it retreats into its tube.
