We had one of our best speaker evenings yet when photographer Darren Jew made the trip from his home in Brisbane to Dive 2000.

Darren took us on a fascinating journey through his time as a commercial photographer, before taking up a position as photographer with the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service for 8 years.

Since 1994 he has been published widely with the opportunity to photograph extensively across Australia and in Africa, Alaska, Patagonia and Antarctica.  His awards include being the 2007 Canon/AIPP Australian Science, Environment and Nature Photographer of the Year.  www.darrenjew.com

Also contributing to a great night was Dive 2000 founder Kevin with some excellent images from both Lembah and Bali.

Lauren Boyce was the lucky winner on the the night of the Scubapro Fuego dive light and we all helped Carolyn Washington to celebrate her birthday.
