The SS Oakland was a cargo vessel working the NSW coast when she sank in storm off Port Stephens in 1903.  She lies on a sandy bottom in about 26m of water so is an excellent dive for Advanced OW qualified divers.

It is a great dive when the conditions are good and Chris Jefferd took advantage of this on a recent visit to Nelson Bay / Port Stephens.
